Jason Barnett is a London based actor.
Born and raised in South London, and of Caribbean heritage, Jason is a versatile and multi-faceted actor.
A long serving and current member of the BBC Radio Drama Company, he has dozens of contemporary, period and international radio credits to his name.
He also has numerous theatre credits under his belt. Jason most recently finished at The Harold Pinter Theatre in Jamie Lloyd's production of 'The Seagull' opposite Emilia Clarke. He also performed in the National's 'The Visit' playing Chief of Police Mundzak set in upstate New York alongside Lesley Manville and Hugo Weaving. Other stage work at the National includes 'Saint George & the Dragon', 'Emil & the Detectives', 'War Horse' (original cast), 'Amato Saltone', 'The Winter’s Tale', 'Pericles', 'Days of Significance' (RSC). 'Primetime', 'Friday Night Sex', 'The Victorian in the Wall', 'The Girlfriend Experience' (Royal Court). 'Life of Galileo', 'About a Boy' (Young Vic). 'Mogadishu' (Lyric, Hammersmith/Royal Exchange, Manchester).'The Fixer' (Almeida). 'Cruisin’ (Bush) and 'John Dryden’s Tempest' (Globe).
Jason is best known for playing the ever bumbling DCI Wilkes in all three seasons of Sky One's 'Agatha Raisin', as well as award-winning Cbeebies series 'Waffle the Wonder Dog', playing the super-efficient dog-hating headmaster Mr Nolan.
His other television work includes 'Bridgerton' (Netflix), 'Murder The Hope' (Gold), 'The Javone Prince Show', 'Bad Education', 'Phoneshop', 'Hailmakers', 'Porridge', 'Bliss', 'Jonathan Creek', 'Josh', 'Death in Paradise' and playing Eddie Olusunje for 3 years in 'The Bill, while film work includes 'London Road', 'Cinderella', 'Superbob', 'One Man & His Dog', 'The Sight' and 'The Rains of Fear'.
He can can also be heard as multiple characters in new Video Game 'Dying Light 2' (Techland) and can be seen on stage performing opposite Billy Howle and Taheen Modak in 'Hamlet' (Bristol Old Vic)
